Laptop!!

I got my laptop today!! I actually missed the UPS guy this morning when I left to get gas, but my wonderful father stopped at the building to pick it up for me on his way home from work. It is so pimp and I am in love with it. It has Windows XP 2006, which is obviously better than the outdated version on our house computer, so there's all these cool programs that I'm not used to. Anyway, I need to do more computery things with my brand new laptop, so I must be going. ;)

A Prairie Home Companion

So, last night my sister and I went out to the movies and saw A Prairie Home Companion. And surprisingly, I loved it. It was very "Best In Show"-esque. Like the cast could make more movies off of it. It was funny, but not in an obvious way. Meaning, those people that are obsessed with movies like the Austin Powers trilogy would never enjoy it. It would go straight over their heads. Anyway, it made me realize that Meryl Streep is such a great actress. She can play any role. She was so hilarious in this movie.

When we got home I realized it was officially Monday, and that was when I could start scheduling for classes at McDaniel, so I just decided to do it then. I didn't think it would be that hard. I thought I would just say what I wanted and they'd pick them all out for me. But it was quite complicated. After about 45 minutes, I got this crazy schedule that is going to kill me. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I have my communications class from 8:00 am to 9:00 am! Gah, it'll be just like high school. And Wednesdays are, like, my super school day, where I have three different classes non-stop from 8:00 am to 1:40 pm. But at least all of my classes on any given day of the week end by 4:30 pm. I am taking Interpersonal Communications, Finite Mathematics, Intro to College Writing, and Journalism in the 21st Century. I think I will love all of them but the Math class.

Baseball's Best Burger

So, I actually did end up working until 3 today. It sucked. Well, more like 2:30, but what's 30 minutes? Complete opposite of yesterday. All but one check-out. I get so sick of cleaning sometimes.

After work my dad made Baseball's Best Burgers for us, since it's my parent's anniversary. Basically, it's a cheeseburger with a Krispy Kreme donut for a bun. It's freaking awesome. Except they have 750 calories and 42 grams of fat. Sick. But beautifully delicious.

I am getting so anxious for my laptop, it's ridiculous. Because with my laptop comes a wireless router, and I never have to use this slow computer again. Unless of course I need to print something. Anyway, now I can play The Sims 2 because I'll have a computer with usable space on it. Not a bajillion pictures (ahem).

Weekend Shmeekend

So, now that summer's here, weekends aren't as much fun as they used to be. It's the only time I work, so I actually dread it. Plus, my parents are off at work all week, and they annoy me on weekends, as well. I, like, love Mondays. Anyway...

Seeing as it is the weekend, I worked this morning. It was actually a pretty easy day. All but one stay over, so I was out of there at 1. I love stay over days, except they always make me skeptical for the next day. I'm guessing tomorrow will be an all check-out day. But I'm crossing my fingers for a miracle. I just want to chill out tomorrow, and not be at work until 3.

Soo...my laptop has been shipped. So it'll be about 4 days until it gets here, but I am so excited. I have a laptop bag and a little desk all set up. I can't wait to put them both to good use. But now I need to shop for a cheap printer to bring to college. Ah, college, can't wait...

Procrastination Nation

I woke up this morning and realized how behind I was on everything. For some reason, I thought summer meant no worries...WRONG. I have these financial aid forms from McDaniel that were due MAY 1ST! And my parents have yet to fill them out. They were even addressed to them. I also have, like, 6 scholarships that have deadlines within the next two weeks that I forgot to write essays for. This whole college thing is so stressful. Especially money. Do you have any idea how easy it is to spend money you got for graduation? I just realized that I spent a good $300 of it. In two weeks! And I don't even feel like I bought anything. Ugh... I need a job. Seriously. Somebody hire me?

The Night Of

So I threw out the double whammy. Except I missed it by 5 minutes. Oh, well. It has just been an eventful day, so I felt like talking about it right after. Basically all day and afternoon was spent rearranging my room. Word of advice: Never rearrange a dirty room. Just take the extra 10 minutes to clean it up. Because it takes forever to kick stuff around everytime you move a piece of furniture. But 6 hours later...pure beauty. I have a whole desk area for my laptop. I'm so excited.

And of course tonight was...BIG BROTHER! Sooo exciting. Spencer came over, and we ate so much. And of course basked in the loveliness of the Sovereigns. I'm so excited for the season. My dream cast would be: Men- Kaysar, Howie, James, Will, Bunky, George; Women- Janelle, Lisa, Erika, Diane, Dana, and Ali (for the sake of drama). We'll just have to wait and see if my dreams comes true.

After Big Brother, the three of us decided to go to The Seven Gates of Hell. After a run in with a black cat, we finally found the first gate. And then pussed out and left. But it was oh-so exciting to see the gate. The exact picture from Weird PA. Loves it...

The Morning After

I love how all of my blog entries are in the morning, talking about the previous day. Maybe I'll change that and whip out a double whammy some day and write one in the evening. Anyway, let me talk about yesterday... ;)

Chelsea and I caught some weird clean-sweep bug. We have been getting rid of everything. But I guess its good, because this house is packed with crap. We probably haven't used 40% of what is packed into our house in the past 10 years. Plus, it's just nice to have extra space everywhere--it makes for easier cleaning. It's harder for a house to get dirty without much stuff in it. Anyway, back to my point! We have been selling books on eBay and Amazon all week, and we sold a bunch to a couple of used book stores in town. I guess today I will drop the rest of them off at Sal Val.

Today I am rearranging my room. I got these awesome floating shelves to put all of my elephants on, so now I can get rid of my huge curio cabinet. Now I just have to wait for Chelsea to wake up, because there's no way my weak arms are moving my huge bed alone.

Laptop

Sooo, after 23498 hours of searching, I (and by I, I obviously mean Chelsea) found a laptop. And I bought it! Of course, it was online, so I won't get it for like, a week, but I am super excited. It's a Dell, and I got a free wireless router with it, so we'll have wireless internet in the house, too. Which is fabulous. Now I need to find myself a laptop case, or I will definitly break it.

I watched Hostel last night, and it was sooo horrible. Like, disgusting. But I actually sat through the entire thing. It was just nasty, though. And I am never ever going to Amsterdam...ever.

I want money, that's what I want.

So, when I got 40 bajillion cards filled with money after I graduated, I was so excited to spend it all on dorm stuff. And then my mom told me excitedly, "Now you can buy a computer!" To which I was quite disappointed, because how am I supposed to buy dorm stuff, now? But then she told me that I could use my savings bonds, instead. So I was happy again. I asked her how much she thought they might be worth, and she easily said, "'Bout $1,500." So of course I was excited I'd have $300 left over after purchasing my notebook. Um, no. We checked all of my savings bonds yesterday, and they only total $1,121. I have a freaking $100 bond from 1993 that is only worth $80! We figured out that I'd have to wait until 2023 for all of them to be face value. Seriously? When I am 35 years old?! OK, I hate to sound like a bleeding heart liberal, but its times like these that I wish Bush was never elected.

P.S. For those of you who are thinking, "Don't you wish that all the time?" Quick answer: No.

So...this is summer.

Ugh, work was a freaking mess this morning. Apparently it has recently become acceptable to leave piles upon piles of trash in hotel rooms. Apparently I am the trash man. Um, no. You have no idea how depressing it is to open a door and see a sink full of dirty dishes, and a counter top covered in Red Robin boxes and left-over Chinese. Ugh, gross. So needless to say, work was tiring this morning.

Came home to even more mayhem. Cleaning out Ingrid's room and moving Chelsea into it. And being conducted by Grumpy McGrumperson, Mayor of Grumpville. Basically, I copped out and didn't do crap all day. But somehow endured a concussion. It's true that if you don't settle down, someone will get hurt. So now I'm afraid to go to sleep. Ahh, this should be an interesting night.

OK, so this is summer? I'm not complaining, but it is going so slow. I think this is the longest week of my life. Ever feel like nothing whatsoever is going your way? I am so annoyed right now. I have a raging headache, the living room is a mess (covered in Chelsea's crap), I just painted my nails and messed them up 204598 times, and I cannot cool off. I am so hot. And the air is on. How am I going to fall asleep?

Recital

So today has been long and hectic, but it was good overall. I worked 10-1, which was challenging since there was a wedding, but it'll probably be worse tomorrow dealing with the aftermath. After work I came home and did a bunch of laundry, then left around 2:45 for Robby's recital. She was actually only on stage for about 2 minutes, but it was so adorable, watching the other kids was worth it. They did ballet, tap, interpretive dance, and some other types that I cannot identify. Haha. It was actually really enjoyable, and Robby's class was the cutest. They all stood up there and watched two other girls for guidance, so they were all a couple steps behind. It was so cute. And they sold candy bars with all the little girl's pictures on them. We bought all of Robby's. Haha.

After the recital, we all went out to dinner at Denny's, and then back to Steph and Dan's to go swimming. Their pool is only, like, 3 feet deep, but it was fun. Then we all sat around and played some card game I forget the name of. After I left I remembered tomorrow is FATHER'S DAY, so I had to make a late-night Wal*Mart run. Fortunately, I found a great gift, so it's all good. Now I just have to muster up the energy to put sheets on my bed so I can go to sleep.

Double Whammy

Yes, I haven't posted in for-ever, and I suddenly throw a double whammy at y'all. Don't give me grief, I've had plenty of that tonight. I babysit for Stephanie all afternoon and evening while everyone was away at the viewing. I left for a few minutes to stop by, and it was...well, a viewing. I'd never been to one before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I suppose it was nice. Then I returned to Steph's to babysit Gavvy. He was adorable all night. And he never lost any of his energy. He just ran around for 5 hours straight, smiling the whole time. Gracie and John came over when I got back, and they were the most well-behaved children ever. I cleaned up the toy room, which took forever, but it needed to be cleaned.

Then around 8:30, Chelsea and I met Kristia to see The Lake House. I loved it. It was definitly a little far-fetched, but it was still good. Definitly better than Runaway Bride (any pop culture freaks out there?).

11 Days Later...

Haha, I make a new blog, promise to write in it all the time, and then I abandon it. Nono, I've just had the most hectic two weeks and now that its finally over (almost), life is getting back to normal. So, I won't bore you with a super update, but I'll wrap everything up:

My grandparents came for the week with Little Tim. It was nice to see them all, and graduation was great. Even though I was hit in the head with a volleyball 4 times and covered in silly string, it was just nice to finally finish high school. Family and friends came over Saturday to celebrate, which was fun. For some of the time. We recieved crushing news at the party. R.I.P. Carol Hoy
So that has been upsetting this entire week, plus Ingrid left yesterday. And of course my mom had a tear attack. She's so adorable. Anyway, we're all going to miss her, but telephones and e-mail exist, so it's not like we'll never speak to her again.

OK, so the mega update is over. As of now I am trying to schedule my fall classes at McDaniel. Which is so effing exciting. My academic advisor, Professor Dalton (yes, I just said professor), seems cool as shit, and he's also the professor for my first year seminar, Journalism in the 21st Century. But honestly, how can a girl focus on scheduling classes when she has college shopping to do? I got my comforter yesterday from Kohl's, and I am in love with it. Its a down comforter, and its brown on one side and green on the other. I also got towels and such while I was there. But I have a bajillion things left to get, so I'm smelling an IKEA trip coming on sometime this summer... Swedish meatballs!

OK, now I desperately need some sort of filing system for all of these papers I am getting from McDaniel, so I must depart and purchase myself something.

Deep Cleaning

So, we never ended up going to the drive-ins. Chelsea was *coughcough* sick. So, anyway, today we've been cleaning like whoa. My grandparents are coming (for graduation) and we had to deep clean. But my room is a beautiful oasis, the bathroom is sparkling, the living room is tidy, and the kitchen is eh (that was Chelsea's job). They should be here soon, but we're still wondering if they'll show. We haven't gotten any calls all day. Oh, well, we'll see what happens...

First Entry

This is my first entry, but it is my 59,285,096th blog. I deleted my last one (xanga) at an attempt for privacy, but since this is my universal screen name, who knows who'll be reading this.

Anyway, if I get any regulars (which is a stretch, because I've got an incredibly boring life), you'll learn my history along the way. I might add a cast page sometime, but probably not. I never update those things, so they become pointless.

So, I really started this so I could talk about my weekend, so here goes: Saturday morning was uneventful. I worked (I am a housekeeper at a local bed and breakfast) 10-1, which wasn't bad. Then Chelsea (my older sister) and I went to get buffet-to-go (I'm addicted to Chinese food), and watched Fever Pitch at the house (I'm also addicted to Blockbuster). This morning I had to wake up at the crack of dawn for a church graduation breakfast (I'm graduating on Thursday!). Then I went straight to work from there and worked 9:30-1. There was a plumbing problem, so I had sooo much less work to do. Anyway, now I'm home and Chelsea and I are going to the drive-ins tonight. We can drive 5 minutes and see Over The Hedge & Poseidon, or we can drive an hour and see The Da Vinci Code & Silent Hill. Decisions, decisions...
